Las Vegas Advice ?
Right you wonderful lot, I've just had an opportunity to visit a friend who will be in LV next week. Seeing as my contract finished last week I may as well take full advantage. I'll be there for four nights, the first night on my tod due the flights.

I am looking to the well respected opinions of WHO for advice as I have not had the pleasure of Sin City before. I am staying on the south boulevard on the strip so please furnish me with ideas for an itinerary.
eg: must see places to visit, nightlife, food, somewhere to watch the football on Monday.

Very much appreciated boys and girls...!!

Absinthe is a great show, it has been about two years since I went to see it though

You'll be able to watch the football pretty much anywhere that has a TV screen. If you want a pub experience, then head to the Crown and Anchor and you might even bump into a certain WHOer who lives in Vegas (he has mentioned it once or twice on here).

I think there is a poster on here who lives out there, can't remember his name, very rarely mentions he lives in Vegas, maybe he can help?

It literally doesn't get any better than a pub that never shuts.

Agreed on that, thanks everyone so far.

Any decent nightclub recommendations? And are they expensive? I assume yes.

Re: Las Vegas Advice ?
Came back a few days ago. 3rd time out there..

We went to a steak house called Golden Steer. It's a bit off the main strip and slightly dated, but the steak and service was great.

If you haven't done it before, maybe consider taking a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon? About $300 from memory..

Passes over Hoover Dam, lunch/dinner at a ranch where you can shoot rifles/ride a horse, and if you time it right, fly back over the strip at dusk when the lights are beginning to come on ?

I was out there with about 15 mates, so we did the pool parties/clubs etc.

Enjoy!

Re: Las Vegas Advice ?
I found that Old Town was far cheaper re the gambling with the three card poker tables at $5 at times, but it was two years ago. The croupiers are not wearing much either which is quite nice until one who has been there for 50 years turns up!!

Seem to win more there as well. Was teaching a mate how to play Three Card Poker in Old Town and got two straight flushes in three hands. Unfortunately he then thought what an easy game and that would always happen!!!

Got married out there a month back. Spent two weeks there. if you don't fancy walking get a one day bus pass. Two go up the strip to the old town. Fast bendy bus or the all stopper double decker. Visit as many hotels as poss really. MGM, Ballagio, Flamingo, Venetian the best. There's a great bar to the right of New York New York. Bier bar or something like that. Quite new. TVs all round it. For clothes go to the northern mall if you have time. You can get the fast bus straight there. Fremont st is a bit tackier but busy. There's canyon helicopter flights but I never bothered, a couple of mates did. One loved it one was bored. So. Great place to eat is the peppermill, everyone knows it. Don't forget to have a Denny's breakfast. Or the Mexican two doors up. Breakfast Bloods Mary's for $2. Where ya staying

Best place to watch the game out here is either Ri Ra's @ Mandalay Bay, Crown & Anchor or The Westgate Sports Book

I work on the strip so will end up in either one depending on where I am close to kick off.

Re: Las Vegas Advice ?
I'd say that's a blessing in disguise Frankie, as I'm a bit more taken in by culture, good food and scenery. A burger in Hooters and standing at a fruit machine in a pumped up version of a high street Paddy Power is not my bag, you know?
